The Gettysburg Choral Society Announces Summer Auditions for Volunteer and Professional Singers

The Gettysburg Choral Society will hold summer auditions for both volunteer singers and professional paid singers. We are especially seeking tenors, basses, and sopranos for our upcoming 10th anniversary season.

Auditions are by appointment on the following dates:

• Monday, June 22, 7–9pm
• Saturday, July 18, 2–4pm
• Monday, August 17, 7–9pm

The Fall 2026 rehearsal cycle begins September 14, with 10th anniversary concerts scheduled for December 5 and 6.

Mandatory rehearsals will be held:
• November 14, 11am–1pm
• December 1, 6:30–9pm

Additional special performances may take place November 18 and 19 as part of events commemorating The Gettysburg Address in Gettysburg.

Interested singers should contact the chorus with their email address to receive a pre-screening questionnaire.

Audition Requirements

We encourage singers who:
• Read music
• Have prior choral experience
• Demonstrate strong vocal accuracy, tone quality, blend, and range
• Possess good sight-reading skills (strongly preferred, but not required)
• Are age 18 or older

Please note: Singers who cannot read music will not qualify.

Professional Singers Needed (Paid Positions)

The Gettysburg Choral Society seeks highly trained, preferably degreed professional vocalists, especially tenors, basses, and sopranos.

Professional singers must:
• Maintain excellent attendance
• Arrive fully prepared for rehearsals and performances
• Submit a resume when applying

A stipend is paid upon successful completion of the semester.
